About Your
Plumbing
Accessories Needed:
- Flexible Water Lines
- Solderless Plumbing Connectors
Tools
Needed:
The No Sweat accessories are designed for installing
the MortonTM System SaverTM
Water Softener without having to sweat solder any copper pipe.
The only tools required with a No Sweat installation are a
saw or pipe cutter and two adjustable wrenches.

"No
Sweat" installation steps:
-
Make sure the 18"
flexible pipes are long enough to reach from the bypass
valve on the water softener to where you are going to
cut the water line pipe.
-
Turn off the water supply
to the house and open a faucet to relieve the pressure.
-
Cut the water line and
then slide the compression fittings onto the newly cut
pipe.
Note: the rubber ferrels included with the compression
connectors are only used with 1/2" lines. With
3/4" lines they can be discarded.
-
Tighten the compression
connectors firmly using two adjustable wrenches against
each other.
-
Connect one end of the
18" flexible line to the newly installed compression
connector and the other end to the By-Pass valve on
the WindsorTM System SaverTM
Water Softener. Tighten the flexible connectors being
careful not to over tighten the connections on the plastic
By-Pass valve.
Note: Make sure the inlet water line is connected
to the inlet side of the By-Pass valve and the outlet
water line is connected to the outlet side of the By-Pass
valve. Inlet and outlet are marked on the valve body.
-
Once both lines are
connected and tightened you are finished plumbing-in
your WindsorTM System SaverTM
Water Softener. Slowly turn on the water supply and
continue with the water softener set-up.
Note:
-
The By-Pass valve can
be installed with the inlets facing up or down which
ever is easier for your particular plumbing layout.
-
Take care in bending
the flexible water lines so as to not allow them to
kink and restrict water flow.
