Open Flexible Water Lines Installation Manual

"No Sweat" installation steps:

  1. Make sure the 18" flexible pipes are long enough to reach from the bypass valve on the water softener to where you are going to cut the water line pipe.
  2. Turn off the water supply to the house and open a faucet to relieve the pressure.
  3. Cut the water line and then slide the compression fittings onto the newly cut pipe.
Note: the rubber ferrels included with the compression connectors are only used with 1/2" lines. With 3/4" lines they can be discarded.
  4. Tighten the compression connectors firmly using two adjustable wrenches against each other.
  5. Connect one end of the 18" flexible line to the newly installed compression connector and the other end to the By-Pass valve on the WindsorTM System SaverTM Water Softener. Tighten the flexible connectors being careful not to over tighten the connections on the plastic By-Pass valve.
Note: Make sure the inlet water line is connected to the inlet side of the By-Pass valve and the outlet water line is connected to the outlet side of the By-Pass valve. Inlet and outlet are marked on the valve body.
  6. Once both lines are connected and tightened you are finished plumbing-in your WindsorTM System SaverTM Water Softener. Slowly turn on the water supply and continue with the water softener set-up.
Note:
  • The By-Pass valve can be installed with the inlets facing up or down which ever is easier for your particular plumbing layout.
  • Take care in bending the flexible water lines so as to not allow them to kink and restrict water flow.
